pilot mentorship project

Our Pilot Career Transition Program, running from March-June 2025, offers students mentorship support on a self-identified project. Through this program, volunteer mentors will assist students in developing a project proposal, progressing through their project, and preparing a final product. This project will culminate with a showcase at the June NWEdA End of School Year event in various formats (e.g., presentations, posters, or written reports).

The program emphasizes skill development in communication, project management, and wellness. Students can choose from three project types:

  • Professional Branding (enhancing online presence and application materials)

  • Career Project (gaining hands-on experience in a chosen field)

  • Choose Your Own Adventure (designing a unique project within the program’s scope)

Participants commit to two monthly mentor meetings, and some independent work outside of meetings is optional. Both students and mentors will engage in data collection through surveys and feedback sessions to assess progress and improve future programming.

The program helps students develop skills and knowledge for their career paths while fostering self-awareness. Staff will use student and mentor feedback to inform strategic career transition support and volunteer mentoring structure.

Stay tuned for the results of this pilot program!
